Your Safety Net
Insurance is much like a safety net used by the performers in high wire acts. They may never need it, but it sure is nice to have it there if they do. However, one 2022 study indicated that about 50% of Americans have no life insurance.1 Another study found only 14% have disability insurance with even fewer, 7% having long-term care insurance.1
Insurance is one of the most important and yet overlooked parts of a financial plan. What happens to your family if you suddenly pass away or are no longer able to work. More than once I have witnessed the impact insurance can have on beneficiaries, both positive and negative. No one wants to leave their family in a tough financial situation. Insurance can help ensure a more stable financial future for your loved ones.
As we talk through your plan, we’ll look at a variety of factors such as your family and tax situation, age, current debt, and financial goals to determine the type and amount of insurance that can help complete your plan. The types of insurance we’ll talk about include:
- Life
- Disability
- Long-term
If there are other types of insurance that you would benefit from, I have strong partners who may be able to help.
Insurance adds a much-needed level of safety and certainty in your plan. While your investments may fluctuate and college costs increase, depending on the type of life insurance you have, benefits stay consistent.
